In 2010, we realized that we were on the brink of a tipping point for the solar industry. Brand differentiation and recognition were becoming more important than ever before. Besides simply looking for a major marketing platform, we searched for a stage that would also allow us to act upon one of our most important corporate missives: social responsibility. With this in mind, we turned to the most beloved sport with the largest fan base in the world – football.
Our history with football began even before our sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa. Our ties with the sport extend back to 2009, when we formed and sponsored a deaf and mute football team in Hebei, a rural province in China. With this partnership, we realized we could use football to positively impact disadvantaged societies and bring awareness to environmental causes. Today, we continue to embark on opportunities that help build our brand while also improving communities around the world.
