Football for Hope. Energy for Hope.Using the Power of the Game for Positive Social Change
As part of our global sponsorship of the World Cup in South Africa, we are working with FIFA to build 20 Football for Hope Centres across the continent. Our PV products are being installed on the Centres, and will do everything from illuminating the football pitches to powering air conditioners and computers.
GRID Alternatives:
Empowering Communities in Need
In 2011, we formed a philanthropic partnership with GRID Alternatives, a nonprofit solar installer providing renewable energy and energy efficiency services, equipment and training to communities in need. As the organization’s Official Solar Module Provider, we are working with them to install 1 MW of solar energy systems for 400 low-income families across California in 2011. These solar projects will generate $10 million worth of renewable energy while eliminating 40,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, the projects will provide hands-on job training in solar PV installation to thousands of individuals looking to enter the solar workforce. Learn More.
