Yingli Solar is the Official Renewable Energy Partner of U.S. Soccer, including the U.S. Men’s, Women’s and Youth National Teams. As part of our partnership, we are teaming up with U.S. Women's National Soccer Team Legend Mia Hamm to help soccer fans across the country go solar!
Join our “Friends and Family of U.S. Soccer” program, which automatically gives qualified homeowners who go solar an additional $250 in electricity savings. Learn more about this exclusive offer and how to go solar with Yingli Solar’s local partner, Verengo Solar, by clicking here.
In addition to promoting solar energy and the “Friends & Family of U.S. Soccer” program, our U.S. Soccer partnership also helps to create opportunities for disadvantaged communities. We are working on a number of philanthropic initiatives under the Yingli P.A.S.S. (Powering Advancement with Solar and Soccer) Program, which combines the financial and educational benefits of donating solar power systems with the active lifestyle benefits of soccer. Learn more about Yingli and U.S. Soccer’s first donation of a 5 kW solar installation at the KIPP DC WILL Academy public charter school in Washington, D.C., here.
Did you know? Soccer and solar energy are both rising mainstream markets in the U.S. — together, they are a powerful match:
- 4 out of the 5 largest solar markets are also among the top 5 in U.S. Soccer attendance: NJ, CA, PA, and MA.
- Viewership of the Men’s World Cup in the U.S. grew by 68% from 2006-2010 to over 11M average viewers. During that same time, U.S. solar installations grew by 527% to reach 878 MW nationwide.
- More tickets were purchased by U.S. fans to the 2010 FIFA World Cup than any nation other than the host country of South Africa.
We’re passionate about supporting soccer, the world’s most popular game.
