Recently, at a grand event in the photovoltaic industry, Yingli Solar once again took center stage. The company swept three major awards: "Most Influential PV Module Enterprise," "Most Influential Scenario-based Product," and "Most Anticipated Employer by Practitioners." Chairman Yin Xulong was further honored with the title of "Person of the Year." However, more thought-provoking than the honors themselves were Yin Xulong's words during his speech: the photovoltaic industry is undergoing a transformation, moving from the "Watt Narrative" focused solely on pursuing installed capacity toward a "Scenario Narrative" centered on integration and application. With a history of more than 27 years, Yingli Solar is emerging as a key practitioner of this narrative shift.
There was a time when the main storyline of the PV industry revolved around "scale, cost, efficiency," with competition among enterprises centered on who could produce more "watts" and deliver them at a lower price. But as Yin Xulong stated, whether a module can truly shine no longer depends solely on production lines, but on its ability to integrate into an effective energy system. Those who achieve better comprehensive energy yield, more stable operation, and smarter integration with application scenarios will win the future.
Yingli Solar's new story is precisely composed of one iconic scenario-based practice after another. On the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau at an altitude of 4,800 meters, participating in the world's largest hydro-PV complementary project and facing blizzards and complex geological conditions, Yingli Solar delivered far more than just products—it provided a complete "solution" covering specialized products, innovative logistics, and full-process services. On the Gobi Desert in Qinghai, by providing core equipment for a globally-watched PV and CSP (Concentrated Solar Power) project, Yingli Solar is exploring a new integrated model of "PV-CSP synergy," promoting more stable and controllable power output. When PV panels are installed at expressway service areas in Xiong'an, at the cargo terminals of Beijing Daxing International Airport, and at the facilities of the Tahe Oilfield, Yingli Solar demonstrates its capability to meet stringent requirements for safety, anti-glare, and high reliability in special sectors like transportation, aviation, and industry, seamlessly integrating green power into the arteries of the modern economy.
The shift from the "Watt Narrative" to the "Scenario Narrative" is essentially a test of an enterprise's comprehensive capabilities. This long-term assessment is reflected in a steadfast commitment to advanced technological routes like N-type cells, in building a global localized marketing and service system, and even more so in the responsibility and commitment undertaken as a setter of industry standards.
The applause at the awards ceremony will eventually fade, but the industry transformation in which Yingli Solar is participating is just reaching its climax. Looking ahead, Yingli Solar will continue to use innovation as its pen to write a new story about how green energy can more deeply and intelligently empower sustainable human development. This is not only a new journey for Yingli Solar, but perhaps also an inevitable direction for the entire photovoltaic industry as it strides toward maturity and greatness.
