Yingli Solar Receives Internationally Recognized Sustainability Certification, Demonstrating Global Footprint Through Three-Pronged Strategy

Recently, news quietly reached China that Yingli Solar has successfully passed the EcoVadis sustainability rating, earning a bronze certification.

As the first Chinese PV company to join the environmental organization PV CYCLE, Yingli Solar began building a green supply chain over a decade ago. From obtaining the world's first TÜV Rheinland carbon footprint certification, to establishing China's first PV module green recycling demonstration line, to receiving the Certisolis carbon footprint certification from France for two consecutive years—these moves, once considered "forward-looking" in the industry, are now becoming a common language in the international market.

Almost simultaneously, another unspoken "test" was underway thousands of miles away at the Rimini Expo Centre in Italy. At the Italian International Renewable Energy Exhibition (KEY –The Energy Transition Expo), Yingli Solar showcased its full-scenario product portfolio. Italy, with its long, narrow territory spanning multiple climate zones, poses highly demanding challenges for PV products. From the bitter cold at the foot of the Alps to the high humidity of the Po River Valley and the salt spray corrosion along the Mediterranean coast, each climate presents a unique test. Yingli Solar's answer lies in its anti-PID performance, salt spray corrosion resistance, and low-light response capabilities—technologies validated through years of global practice. Product features honed in the humid rainforests of Yunnan and the extreme cold of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau have proven equally reliable on the Mediterranean coast.

Turning the focus back to China, in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, the Nanbeibang 200 MW PV power generation project in Menghai County has reached full-capacity grid connection. This is the largest single-capacity PV power station in the region and the fifth tea-solar complementary project Yingli Solar has delivered in Yunnan, following the Manwai, Man'en, and Bajiaoting projects. Challenges such as tropical hilly terrain, high heat and humidity, soft soil conditions, and mudslides during the rainy season—factors that could be a "nightmare" for any PV plant—were systematically addressed by the Yingli Solar team. Through customized lightweight modules, smart warehousing and logistics, and end-to-end service, the delivery cycle was shortened by four months.

These three fronts, though seemingly independent, point to the same underlying logic. Competition in the PV industry has long evolved from a simple product comparison into a comprehensive contest of capabilities across the entire value chain, diverse application scenarios, and varied geographic regions. From the tea gardens of Xishuangbanna to the exhibition stands on the Mediterranean coast, from international ratings lists to power plants on the snowy plateau, Yingli Solar's three-pronged approach paints a clear picture of a Chinese PV company navigating the global energy transition.

As "sustainability" shifts from a concept to a market access requirement, and as "scenario-based deep cultivation" evolves from a strategy to a core competency, Yingli Solar is using real-world results to answer the question that echoes across the industry: what kind of PV company can truly endure market cycles and achieve long-term, steady growth?
